Season Food Industry Heritage You Can Taste
It started with a simple belief — that the sweets our grandparents made with their own hands shouldn’t disappear from our plates.
In 2012, Mr Shree Gopal Maharjan started Season Food Industry from Thecho, Lalitpur — not in a big factory, not with a business plan from a boardroom, but from a small kitchen with a few kilos of khuwa and a deep love for the traditional Nepali sweets he grew up eating.
The mission was personal. The sweets that once filled every Newari household during festivals — Pustakari, Gudpakh, Lakhamari, Khajuri — were slowly being replaced by mass-produced alternatives that tasted nothing like the originals. The recipes were the same, but the care was gone. The shortcuts had crept in. And the flavors our parents recognized were quietly fading.
Mr Shree refused to let that happen.
What began as a one-man kitchen has grown into a team of over 10 local people from Thecho and the surrounding communities — each one bringing skill, care, and pride to every batch we produce. These aren’t factory workers on a line. These are neighbors, families, and artisans who understand what these sweets mean because they grew up eating them too.
When you buy from Season Food, you’re not just buying a sweet. You’re supporting real families, real livelihoods, and a real community that believes in keeping Nepal’s food heritage alive.
Some things haven’t changed since day one — we still use real khuwa, real Nepali butter, real sugar. We still make everything in small batches. And we still believe that the best sweets are the ones made the way they were always meant to be made.
No artificial flavors. No shortcuts. No compromise.
